We are aware of persistent performance issues on this server and working on the best way to both short term mitigate and resolve this issue. We will keep this announcement updated as to the plans and steps (to be) taken.

Sorry for the lack of updates, we have been actively working to resolve this issue with the least impactful options being explored first. We are going to proceed with replacing the faulty drives on this server. This is not expected to result in any downtime, but the replacement of the drives is possibly going to compound the already poor performance of the server. We have explored multiple other avenues prior to opting for this solution as we appreciate the service impact this is currently causing. This is the best option moving forwards, but due to the nature of copying data from a faulty drive to a new drive we cannot provide a reliable time frame for this, as it is dependant on how well the failing drive is able to keep up with the new replacement drive. We will continue to update you as this process progresses. As with any work of this nature, there is always the possibility that copying data from the faulty drive to a new one may result in the faulty drive completely failing. If this occurs, we will restore the server from our backups as a priority. If this eventuality does occur, we will also notify you and provide an estimate until services are restored. We will keep you updated if any of the above process needs to change. Please be assured that this is being worked on as a priority, once again sorry for the lack of updates.

The first hardware replacement has been completed and data is now copying from the faulty drive the new drive, unfortunately due to the severe nature of this failure, copying is occurring slower than it would typically. We will update you once the copying has completed or if there are any subsequent issues.

The process of copying data onto the new drives is still in progress, this is unfortunately taking quite some time due to the degraded performance of the old drives.
