Network issues
To update this announcement, todays network interruption was caused by one of our main routers on the network crashing and restarting. We have a second router installed which should have taken over handling the traffic but failed to do so for the entire network leaving a portion of the network offline until the router reboot was complete.

This is currently being investigated by the Extreme (equipment vendor) to establish (a) why the router crashed and (b) why the second router didn't take over. When we have an update from them a full RFO will be produced.

It is likely that Extreme will want to carry out some firmware updates on the equipment to fix the problem. While this should not cause any downtime due to the redundancy in the pair of routers, we will provide notice of the AT-RISK period when/if this is planned.
