Scheduled reboot |
---|
Today this server suffered a failure to one of it's hard drives. Due to the hardware RAID in place this caused no downtime or adverse affects as the good drive took over and continued as normal. We have replaced the failed drive and need to schedule a quick reboot to force a RAID array rebuild to the replaced drive so that data is mirrored to it. At the current time the server is running without data mirroring which makes this work quite urgent. This reboot is scheduled for 8.30pm this evening and should not involve more than 3-5 minutes downtime. This announcement will remain updated. |

This work is now complete and the server came back up fine. I can also confirm that the RAID array rebuild has started which mirrors all data across to the new drive to provide full redundancy. Thanks. |
