Clook Status - Hardware migration

Hardware migration
Clapton (the server you are hosted on) is one of our older servers and as part of our proactive maintenance we are planning to migrate all data to a brand new machine. The new machine is more powerful (8 x CPU, 8GB RAM vs 4 x CPU, 2GB RAM) and has an updated software stack (including CloudLinux technologies). Once complete, the server will be inline with our other reseller servers, allowing us to continue providing a reliable service. This work has been undertaken numerous times previously and will involve minimal downtime. The first copy of user data has already been completed so on the day of the work we will do an additional sync to refresh new/changed files before the IP's are switched over to the new machine. After switching the IP settings it will just require a reboot to complete the work. There will be up to 20 minutes of downtime while the servers reboot and pick up the new IP addresses, however this usually takes under 5min. The work is scheduled for Wednesday the 27th of June and will take place around 11pm UK time. No intervention is required from clients in relation to this work. All IP numbers will remain the same as will logins, domains and everything else. Please also rest assured that we will be keeping the old server in place which we can revert back to in the very unlikely event that this is required. This announcement will remain updated throughout.

The final sync took a little longer than expected due to a slightly oversized database. It has now finished and both machines are rebooting.

Hardware migration
All databases and files have been checked for integrity and the error logs monitored over the past 20min. The new server appears to be functioning as expected and you should see no further impact to your websites.
