RESOLVED
This announcement has been resolved, no further updates are expected.
Data migration
Due to the declining state of this server in the past few days we have provisioned a new machine of much greater power (quad core CPU, 4 GB RAM, SAS drives) to migrate all data to. This will resolve the stability issues suffered recently from hardware that appears to be on the decline.

The work will be happening without delay overnight tonight. A full data sync will be done to the new machine will everything remains online served from the current machine. Following this a much quicker second sync will be done to catch any new or updated files after which the old machine will be switched off and the new one rebooted to bring up the IP numbers.

All clients should note that no nameserver or IP changes are involved with absolutely no taks required by any hosted client for this work to take place.

This announcement will remain updated.

Data migration
The first sync of all data to the new hardware is approx 75% complete. During this part of the work all hosting accounts have remained online from the old machine though load has been quite high due to the intensive data copying resulting in slower performance which we apologise for.

After this first data sync the second sync will be started to update the new machine with any files created, updated or deleted on the old server since the first sync. This part will be much quicker because the new server already contains most of the correct data without requiring any major copying.

This announcement will be updated after the second sync as we prepare to swap the IP numbers to the new machine and direct all traffic to it.

Data migration
The second data sync is now happening. When this is finished please be aware that there will be a short period of downtime to all accounts and services which should not exceed more than 10-15 minutes. This is while we switch all IP's to the new machine so that all traffic is directed at the new machine instead of the old one.

Data migration
This work was completed a short while ago. There was a period of approx 10 minutes downtime while the IP numbers were switched but since this time all accounts have been online as they were before (but much faster due to the enhanced server hardware).
